« Je ne sais pas si ces artistes qui prétendent avoir souffert avant de percer ont vraiment souffert dans la vraie vie. Mais moi, la façon dont j’ai souffert est encore fraîche dans ma mémoire. Je me souviens encore clairement, assis au bord de la route à Ajegunle avec ma mère pendant qu’elle faisait frire l’akara. Chaque homme riche qui conduit sa voiture et s’arrête pour acheter de l’akara à ma mère, dans mon esprit, j’aimerais que l’un d’eux dise simplement, jeune garçon, prends cet argent. Tu as vraiment besoin Mais malheureusement, cela n’est jamais arrivé », a confié le chanteur.

« Maintenant que je suis là où je suis par la grâce de Dieu, quand je vois quelqu’un dans le besoin, cela me rappelle mon expérience de pauvreté. Et je mettrais la personne à ma place. C’est pourquoi personne qui me croise dans la vie ne partira jamais sans un certain impact de ma part », a-t-il ajouté. Et de conclure : « C’est pourquoi je fais le peu que je peux pour soutenir les gens aujourd’hui. »
